Generally there are two ways of cleaning app caches in Android: using Android itself or using cache cleaner apps. Here comes a handful instruction on how to achieve this using the first method.
1: Prior to jellybeans, cleaning applications cache was a default feature in Android. It’s as easy as going to settings > applications > manage applications, selecting the app you wish and then clear the cache using the proper button available. But if you wish to clean the whole applications caches together all at once, you will have to boot system in recovery mode. Using Wipe Cache Partition you can remove all data caches of applications at once. To access Recovery Mode, you will have to press both volume buttons at the same time before the appearance of android logo on startup.
2: Jellybeans and later versions: To remove all application cache at once, go to Settings > Settings > Storage > cached data.
