How to Set Default Contact Phone Number on Galaxy S4

You can set different phone numbers to a contact and better than that, you can choose one from multiple numbers as a default phone number on Galaxy S4, S3, Ac2, and almost all the other Android devices.

In this tip, our focus phone is GS4 and the instruction is as follows:

1. Open "Contact" App

2. Choose the Person or Contact and tap on it

3. Long Press on the Phone number, you would like to set as default

4. On the opened menu, simply tap on "Set Default"

Update: On some Galaxy devices, after step 2, press Menu Button, tap Mark as default option, and then choose the number as the default

I just got an S4 and I'm trying to figure this out.  Doing what you say only brings up "Delete" and "Copy".  What you describe is what I expected after having several HTC phones.  I'm on Verizon.  Is that the problem?

Found it!  I knew if I kept playing long enough, I would find it.  I've been trying to do this for about 4 days.  Here is what you do:

Contacts App
Click on the person with multiple email addresses or phone numbers
Press the Menu button (light up button to the left of the physical Home button at the very bottom)
Press Mark as Default
Touch the radio button next to the default number and/or email address
Press Save at the top of the screen
