In this AW Center App Updates article, we selected 5 Android games and apps which received some considerable changes and new features, in the past week.
So, let’s see what’s new in: Firefox Browser for Android, Twitter, Plants vs. Zombies™ 2, Touchless Control and Skype - free IM & video calls.
1. Firefox Browser for Android
The latest Firefox update focuses on both new noticeable features and smoother performance with certain hardware pieces.
The new home screen design lets you see all the main sections of the browser by swiping, and you can pin tabs to the homepage. Top site, History, Bookmarks and Reading list are all accessible at the cost of a finger swiping. Bing and Yahoo can now be set as the default search engine of Firefox (only for the U.S. and European users) and you can easily manage the search providers from the settings menu.
Script-generated passwords are now supported by the Firefox password manager, but the issue with loading Flash based websites is still unsolved on Android devices running KitKat.
“Is it me, or the application has been completely redesigned?” This is our first impression after opening the Twitter v5.0. The latest Twitter update changes almost the entire interface and design, and you may get confused or frustrated instead of getting excited. Like the Firefox, the tabs or swipeable and you can access to Home, Activity, and Discover by swiping. You can add people to your favorite list and receive Push Notification as soon as they update their pages by tweeting.
There are so many new features and changes, and unlike so many other people, we liked the new changes.
It is really hard to stop playing Plants vs. Zombies after playing it for a while. This is what we call addiction to such games. The latest Plants vs. Zombies™ 2 update, made it even more addictive by upgrading the map, the option to invite your friends send them gifts, and speeding up the planting as well as the zombies. Although the map has almost completely changed, but it is much simpler and you can easily find out what you are about to do and what you have done.
If you are using Droid Ultra, Mini, Maxx, or Moto X and you are a U.S. English, U.S. Spanish, Canadian French or Brazilian Portuguese user then the good news is that Motorola has added some new features to its Touchless Control application. Here are some of the main changes: Unlock your phone by speaking your PIN number and More Google Now commands now work without having to unlock your phone first (It doesn’t include personal information like email, message and contacts). Note that this update works only on the mentioned Motorola device if running Android 4.4. KitKat.
5. Skype - free IM & video calls
Latest version of favorite video chatting application, Skype, is just about Android tablets. Other than some bug fixes and performance improvement, there are 2 newly added features: the Picture-in-Picture feature which lets you see your active video call while switching to other apps, and the option to pinch to zoom out your contact list to enable the alphabet view and tap a letter to view just those contacts starting with that specific letter.
