Although most of first day of CES 2014 news is about Samsung Galaxy PRO tablets, new Sony devices (T-Mobile Xperia Z1S and Xperia Z1 compact), Asus ZenFone, and Huawei Ascend Mate II, but there are still some more interesting news to cover. 1. LG Confirms The LG G Flex for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint
We already knew about the availability of LG’s first flexible device for major U.S. carriers, but during the LG’s press conference at the CES, they officially announced that 6inches G Flex will be coming to AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint sometime this year.
On the leaked rendered images by @evleaks, the date on the device’s screen points to February 12th which matches with “in the coming weeks” as the release time announced by T-Mobile.
2. AT&T To Carry ASUS PadFone X Exclusively in the U.S.
ASUS PadFone series made a name for itself due to their innovative combination of a tablet and a phone in a single Hybrid device. And according to the AT&T announcement, the latest version of this series, PadFone X, will be offered by the carrier and ASUS PadFon e X will be exclusively carried by AT&T in the U.S.
The PadFone X is packed with a 5-inch Full HD phone, and a 9-inch Full HD tablet which runs Android KitKat 4.4.
There are no details on the availability and the available deals for this hybrid smart device.
3. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite to Be As Low As $129
Since Samsung is planning to sell around 100million units of Galaxy tablets in the 2014, they need to focus on producing more budget devices, along with the premium Galaxy PRO tablets.
If the rumors are true, Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will be named the cheapest Galaxy tablets, which will reportedly be priced at $129 in the U.S. at launch in the mid-January.
7inches display, 1024x600 resolution, 1.2GHz processor, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean are the expected feature of Galaxy Tab 3.
4. Huawei Plans to Ship 80million Smartphones in 2014
Huawei’s execute VP is ambitious enough to confidently announce that they’ve planned to ship more than 80million smartphones this year. He also announced that the total shipments reached 17.5 million in the last quarter of 2013 while 95% of all handsets left its factories with the Huawei branding attached.
