1. HTC To Focus More on Producing Cheaper Mid-End Devices in 2014
Producing more mid-end devices with cheaper prices, will be the HTC’s policy in 2014, said HTC co-founder and chairperson Cher Wang. In the second quarter of 2013 the company saw a 80% drop in its stock price compared to the previous year, and concentrating too much on flagships, HTC One family precisely, could be one of the reasons of this huge capital loss in 2013.
By the way, although HTC is already planning to launch HTC M8 (and HTC M8 mini) sometime in late March, but they are going to focus more on producing mid-end devices (don’t confuse them with low-end devices) in the $150 to $300 price range, and they are also going to expand their sales in more countries and markets.
We are kind of sensing that 2014 could be a turning point for the Taiwanese as they are planning to expand their marketing activities, introduce wearable devices (at least 1 device), producing mid-end devices with cheaper prices), and unveiling the HTC One’s successor.
2. Sony Xperia Sirius Specs Leaked: 20.7MP Camera, 4K Video Recording
The next Sony’s flagship codenamed Xperia Sirius D6503 is expected to be announced at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, and according to some leaked screenshots, the 5.2” device will be equipped with a 20.7MP rear camera which can record 4K videos. Timeshift Video app and the Creative Effect camera app are also expected to be released with Xperia Sirius to provide a pleasant photo taking exp erience for the owners.
Xperia D6503 reportedly features a 5.2 inch Triluminos display with IPS technology, Snapdragon 800 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and Android kitKat with refreshed Xperia UI.
3. HTC M8 Leaked Photos Confirm Dual Camera and On-screen Buttons
The new alleged photos of HTC M8, which we don’t know if they are legit, suggest that the new HTC flagship will be featuring a camera with dual lenses and on-screen buttons too.
The On-screen buttons helps the designer to keep the size the same as HTC One and increase the display size, and the dual-camera feature helps you to take even clearer shots with your phone.
Although HTC specifies they have plans to focus on mid-end devices more, but it doesn’t mean they are not going to release their 2014’s flagship with so many competitive advantages, including the fingerprint sensor and dual-camera feature.
