It seems one of the main reasons of announcing Moto G is to show the compatibility of KitKat with mid-end and low-end devices.

Carphone Warehouse is the first UK retailer to offer HTC Desire 500 as one of the best options in the mid-range Android devices. The SIM-free device costs you £199.99, while you need to pay £15 monthly for the contract version.
Main specs of HTC Desire 500 are: 4.3inch display, 800x480 pixels, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8MP rear camera.
