LG is planning to get the attention of customers who are looking for high-end devices as well as those who prefer mid-range devices with affordable prices, as they announced G Pro 2 a few days ago as a high-end device, and today the Korean OEM announced the refreshed versions of L Series devices which are considered to be in the mid-range category.
L90, L70, and L40 are the 3 new mid-range devices announced by LG a head of MWC 2014, which target the emerging 3G markets, and they can be named as one of the very first Android devices which run Android 4.4 KitKat but don’t sport high-end features.

Since we are talking about mid-end devices (even low-end), you should not expect something big, but it is really surprising to see Android KitKat on such devices while there are so many flagships, including LG’s own 2013 flagship G2, waiting to receive the latest Android version.
It is also worth to mention that these new devices are the first LG’s mid-range devices to support the Quick Window smart cover, so you can easily view important notifications and check the time without the bother to open the cover.
Since the L Series III aims for emerging markets, you shouldn’t look for LTE-enabled variants and 3G will be the fastest connection you can find on L40, L70 or L90.
To get more details about availability and price wait for MWC 2014 as LG will officially showcase the L Series III in Barcelona.
So, for now L40, L70, L90 and G Pro 2 are the 4 definite LG’s devices to debut at Mobile World Congress and who knows, maybe there will be a 5th device too! Are you thinking of LG G2 Mini?
