CBS Sports (CBS Interactive) as a reputable Sport news source has released an Android Sport Widget & App which promises to keep you up to date to the latest news and scores about almost every sports, leagues, and teams all around the world. The latest update provides an online radio too which comes along with other features like Tweeters from some sport experts, and videos.
CBS Sports supports these leagues and sports: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA Football, NCAA basketball, Golf, Premier League, Tennis (Added in the latest update), NASCAR, Formula 1, MLS, Champions League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Europa League, Ligue 1, Scotthish Premier, Dutch Eredivisie, Mexican Primera, Brazilian Serie A, and Argentina Primera. A good feature in CBS Sports is that you can select which leagues to follow in the settings menu.
If you want to follow the news and scores for some selected teams, you just need to easily add your favorite teams in to MY Teams and review the schedule, tweets, and stats of these favorite teams separately. Push notifications for breaking news and top stories are sent to your device for your favorite teams.
There are 3 home screen widgets available:
CBS Sports Scores: Scores are shown on home screen in 2 different widget sizes: 4×1 & 4×2. When adding the widget you are asked to choose a league to follow latest scores. Select from available mentioned leagues, My Team, Live Games, or My Watchlist and you are done.
The only personalization is about changing the theme from Light to Dark and from Dark to Light. We couldn’t find any settings regarding the update interval time.
CBS Sports News: This 4×2 widget brings all the latest news from your chosen league (or your favorite teams) on your home screen. You can scroll to see other news headlines and tap each news to go to the full story.
CBS Sports Android App & Widget has been designed very neat and simple which brings a pleasing user experience, but actually doesn’t provide such unique information or feature in compare to other Android Sport Widgets.
