What Happened 1000 Years Ago On This Day? If you own an Android device, you have 2 options to answer this question: Either go to different websites, look for the “This Day in Hisotry” page and find your answer, or simply install ‘Today in History’ Widget” on your device, and just take a look at your home screen to find out what was going on in history on this day.

The application uses many sources in different languages like English, Spanish, German, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish and Swedish to make sure no important events during the past years are missed. English users have these options to select and add: English Wikipedia, New York Times, BBC, History.com, and DW World. Other languages have at least the option to select Wikipedia as their source and some languages like Spanish have wider options.

Today in History’ Widget lets you add 3 home screen widgets with different sizes but same functionalists. There is no difference between the Small 4×1 and Big 4×2 widget, except the details to show on home screen. There are 2 arrow buttons to move between news and they worked flawless with no issues or bugs. The other 4×2 widget lets you move between news by swiping down or up and as we mentioned in CNN Widget Review and EuroSport Widget Review, we  like this way of moving between news.

The idea of Today in History is really impressive and both the application and widget work smooth and showing related link for events and the ability to share news with friends are other 2 great features of Today in History. We were just hoping to be able to look for events in the past for days other than the current day! for now you can only view the news just for Today.
