Phone storage encryption lets you encrypt data on HTC One. To decrypt device when powered on, you need to enter password or PIN lock. Start the encryption process by following the instruction:
1. Open “Settings” and go to “Storage”
2. Tap “Phone storage encryption” (Requires a PIN to decrypt device when powered on)
3. Tap “OK” to start the process
** Note that you need to set a lock screen PIN or password before start the process
** The process is not reversible
** Factory reset is the only way to unencrypt HTC One
** Make sure you have enough battery or plugged in to a charger
** Depending on the data, the process might take an hour or more
