For the past 2 years, everyone expects to see Samsung use a metal body for its smartphones before the Korean’s Unpacked events but after the unveiling event they get disappointed as they see yet another product with the same design, and therefore they just wait for the next product and hope to see Samsung’s first device with a metal body.
But it seems the wait is finally over, as Samsung Galaxy Alpha is going to be named the first Samsung’s smartphone to feature an elegant design with metal body.
While the recent reports suggest the official Galaxy Alpha announcement on August 13, but it doesn’t mean the phone has not been completely leaked. Based on reliable rumors and a recently leaked image in Brazil showing the specs, here is the expected Samsung Galaxy Alpha General Specifications:
- 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 720p resolutions
- Quad-core 1.8GHz + Quad-core 1.3GHz processors, Exynos 5 Octa chipset
- 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory
- 12MP / 2.1MP Main and Rear Cameras
- Android 4.4 KitKat (expects to be Android 4.4.4)
- Fingerprint scanner, Heart rate sensor
- 1,860mAh Battery
We first mentioned, Galaxy Alpha will be the first Samsung’s device to feature a metal body, but according to the leaked images the only new thing is the design is the used material and you shouldn’t expect a whole new design for the Galaxy Alpha’s design as it has kind of exactly the same design language as Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Ace family. The back cover seems to be using a faux-leather backing and the metal material is used for around the sides.
Specs-wise there is nothing new, except the lack of micrSD card slot for Galaxy Alpha which is a unique feature among all the other Samsung’s products. If the rumors are to be held correct, other than the 32GB model we should also expect another Galaxy Alpha model with 64GB of internal storage.
Now let’s get to the most important part, which is Samsung Galaxy Alpha Price and Release Date.
Well, the price is a complete mystery, but there are some clues leading us to the August 18 announcement in Russia, and according to some leaked shots from an event in Russia the device has already paid a visit to Moscow.
