1. Android KitKat Is Now Available for the Moto G, DROID Ultra, Maxx and Mini

As expected and following the recent soak tests, Verizon started the staggered update roll out for the DROID Ultra, Maxx, and Mini, from today. Other than the new feature of Android KitKat, the mentioned DROID users can use the new version of the DROID Zap with redesigned interface and improved features. DROID devices are not the only Motorola devices to get the Android KitKat update, since the U.S. and international versions of Moto G are also receiving the latest version of Android, Android KitKat 4.4.2, starting from today. According to the Motorola’s blog post, the OTA update brings all the new features of the Android 4.4.2, as well as improvements in the default apps and features, including: Phone dialer, Camera, Gallery, Printing documents and pictures, Hangouts and Supported accessories.

2. Sony Xperia Z1 Mini Released in Japan, Soon to Hit the International Market

After so many rumors and news about the mini version of Sony Xperia Z1, the device finally goes on sale under the Xperia Z1F name. NTT DoCoMo stores are now offering the Xperia Z1F with 4 options to choose as the color: black, white, striking lime and pink.

If you are wondering about the differences between Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1f, we should say almost everything remains unchanged except the screen size which has reduced to 4.3 inches. 720p screen, Snapdragon 800 chipset, 20.7 MP camera, 2GB of RAM and being dust and water proof are the main specs of Xeria Z1 mini.

So, is it going to be an international release? Absolutely, and we are guessing on January 6th at the CES in Las Vegas.

3. 1.5m Units of Huawei Honor 3C Reserved in 36 Hours

Remember Honor 3C, the $130 Huawei budget phone announced a couple of days ago as the Xiamoi cheap devices competitor? The Chinese opened the reservation on December 17th, and after only 36 hours, 1.5 million reservations were made for the 5" 720p Dual-SIM phone. Although reservation doesn’t necessarily mean a definite sale, but it is still impressive and lets the Huawei take the next steps more confident.
