1. Samsung Galaxy S5 to Come in 2 Versions: Prime and Standard
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is mostly known for its predictions about Apple’s new devices as he was one of the first to be confident about Apple using fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 5S.
This time, the analyst has published his prediction about Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and he believes the Galaxy S5 will be released in 2 models with different specifications, called Galaxy S5 Prime and Galaxy S5 Standard.
According to Kuo, Both versions will be featuring a 5.2 AMOLED screen, 32-bit processors, 16MP/2MP Rear and Front camera, 3D Gesture support, Fingerprint support, 2,850mAh, and the plastic casing.
There are 3 main difference between these 2 models, the WQHD display (2,560x1,440) compare to the FHD display (1,920x1,080), 3GB of RAM compare to the 2GB of RAM, and 32-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 5430 compare to the 32-bit quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU.
If Kuo predictions are considered to be true, then we know Samsung is not going to use 64-bit processors as well as a metal body, but on the other side Fingerprint sensor will be used as the biometric authentication method.
2. It’s Officail: LG G Pro 2 Will be unveiled in February
When LG announced LG G Pro with a 5.5inch screen as their first Phablet device, back in February 2013, we all knew how serious LG is about producing phones with bigger size, and today they have officially confirmed the LG G Pro 2 which is set to be announced sometime in February. Since MWC is being held from February 24 to 27, we are expecting to see the new phablet in Barcelona, but LG may be planning a separate event to announce its new device.
G Pro 2 reportedly features a 6inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of RAM.
3. Samsung and Google to Keep Being Friends (Best Friends) for at least 10 More Years
When you’re the “Patent” term, the very first thing you are reminded of is for sure the issues between Apple and Samsung in the past couple of years regarding patents and who infringed the other’s patent. But today, there was a shocking news in the patent world, as Google and Samsung reached to a cross-licensing agreement which cover all current patents registered to either Google or Samsung, as well future patents during the next 10 years.
The agreement between the maker of Android and world’s biggest OEM will have definitely so many advantages for the entire Android ecosystem as Samsung can benefit from the many Google’s registered patents and Google knows for sure Samsung will be cooperating with Google to manufacture more Android devices, even if the Korean release their own OS, so called Tizen.
