1. Android 4.2 + Sense 5.0 update now rolling out to AT&T HTC One X
The last and final firmware update is finally available for the AT&T HTC One X and you just need to make sure to get and accept the update notification and let the phone bring the many new features of Sense 5.0 as well as Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to your One X.
HTC Gallery, Video Highlights, Music Channel, Miracast and of coure HTC BlinkFeed are the Sense 5.0 features you get to experience on your device, which means Kid mode, HDR video, HTC Zoe™ Photo Editing, HTC Share and some more features won’t be available on HTC One X/X+ running Jelly Bean 4.2 and Sense 5.0
2. Life Times to be Samsung’s New Application for its Future Phones
This year is an important year for Samsung, as Samsung is reducing its marketing costs, and the competitors are getting stronger and Galaxy devices are not the only Android devices to keep an eye on them, so Samsung is doing its best to keep its place as the top Android vendor (and smartphone vendor) by creating a perfect device to enhance the user experience.
According to SamMobile, the newest Samsung’s’ application is called Life Times which will be pre-installed on Samsung’s future smartphones, including Galaxy S5 (although it is not confirmed, but Galaxy S5 is highly likely to be the first Samsung device to have Life Times ore-installed).
According to the leaked screenshots, Life Times can be considered to be in the diary category, as it provides the user a log for what he/she has done recently by collecting data from past apps and events, like your social networks activities, call logs, messages, photos, and calendar events.
3. HTC Butterfly Reportedly Receiving Android 4.3 in Malaysia
HTC Butterfly was announced in December 2012 and released a month later in January, and while its successor, Butterfly S, has already received the Android 4.3 (back in December 2013), there was no word on when the Butterfly will get the update too.
But according to some reports from Malaysia, HTC has started to roll out the 500MB update to bring the Butterfly’s firmware to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with many features of Sense 5.5.
We are not sure whether this could be the final support for the HTC Butterfly or not, but for now you can enjoy HTC BlinkFeedm and imaging experience improvements, as well as enhanced music channel, and of course the obvious Android 4.3 OS new features.
4. HTC One Owner in U.S. and Canada Need to Be More Patient to Get KiKat Update
HTC promised to bring Android 4.4 KitKat update for the HTC One in U.S. and Canada with a 90-day deadline, and today Jason Mackenzie, President, HTC Americas announced they couldn’t meet the deadline and the update is not ready yet. He also asked the users to wait another week or so, until the 5-stage update process gets complete and the new firmware gets available to roll out.
