The S Series of Samsung Galaxy smartphones has been the leader of all Android products. Samsung recently released Galaxy S4 world wide and we covered the Galaxy S4 review and Galaxy S4 Pros & Cons. But here we are going to take a look back and have a short review for Galaxy S3. The product which broke all the records for Samsung and brought the Korean company success and just success!

 

Design

Easy handling, simplicity and 8.6 mm of thickness, are all bold features you see in Galaxy S3 design layout. And on the other side the famous plastic body is used in Galaxy S3. The display specifications is: 4.8” Super AMOLED display with HD resolution and density of 306 PPI

 

Hardware

 The processor chip used in S3 is the Samsung exclusive Exynos. A quad core processor with 1.4 GH of frequency. For the GPU, the company has used the famous graphical chipset known as, Mali-400MP and they used only 1 GB for RAM. These features might seem a little lower than HTC Butterfly or Sony Xperia Z, but S3 has another powerful feature not seen on the similar smartphones and it is the Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 resolution.

 

Software

 The gadget comes with Android 4.0.4 as the default operating system, but a newer version of Android 4.1.2 is also available to install (Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and 4.3 is on the way). As always, Samsung has used TouchWiz Graphical Interface for the device. S3 has many other new features but the most important of them all, are the following:

 

S Voice: The Samsung exclusive voice assistant enables you to do all you want to do with your device via voice orders.

Smart Stay: A feature to prevent the screen from turning off when the user is using the device and looking at the screen (Using front camera).

Google Now: Google Now is the Google’s voice assistant service coming with Jelly Bean in S3. It is also known as the best voice assistant services among others.

Blocking Mode: It enables you to block all incoming calls, alarms and ringtones at specific time period. You also get to assign some contacts to a white list

Offline Voice Recogniti on: With this feature, you can convert your speeches into text, even when you are offline and no internet connection is available (See: ).

 Popup Video Player: This feature enables you to watch videos over floating windows wherever you want.

 Screenshot: Just swipe your palm from right edge to the left or vice versa to take a screenshot.

 Page Buddy: Predicts what you are to do next and takes the necessary steps. For example runs the Media Player when you plug in the hands free.

 Contextual Menu: Organizes the application menus, based on the frequency of the applications used.

 Multi Window: Enables you to have 2 apps simultaneously shown on the screen.

Best Face: By taking 5 continuous shots, makes you possible to choose the best one among them.
