How do you usually manage to track all your favorite news sources to get the latest breaking news about the things you follow and care about? Well, there are so many news applications for Android that aim to organize your news sources and favorite feeds, and show you breaking news as push notifications. While we were browsing the Google Play Store to see the newest applications in the News category, we found some interesting application, called Floatfeed. The name of the app speaks for itself. It’s a freed reader app and shows the breaking news and latest news as a floating message. We really loved the idea and it surprisingly worked liked a charm.
So, how does Floatfeed work? Well, first of all, you need to let the app know about the news sources you’d like to follow and track, and after that, you just leave the rest to the app. Once there is a new story or news from your followed news sources, you’ll be notified in a floating message on the screen. So, no matter what application you have opened or what game you are playing, you will immediately learn about a breaking news about your favorite topic. The message is shown on the screen for a couple of seconds, and you get to decide whether to skip it with a swipe or tap on it to read more details.
What news sources does Floatfeed support? We browsed through available sources and we found almost any new source we knew or heard about on the list. Sources have been categorized into the news, sports, business, entertainment, politics, and science & tech. In overall, this news feed reader covers the entire major source in different industries.
Is it easy to use and functional? Well, to be honest, we were kind of skeptical about this news app. But after adding a few sources and trying the app, we just fell in love with it. It may take a while to get used to being notified about breaking news in this way, but once you receive a couple of floating messages, you’ll just feel how great this app is. And since it’s completely free to use, there is no harm giving it a try.
