Design
The main distinguished feature in LG G Flex is for sure the curved display, which unlike Galaxy Round, is curved vertically. Like G2, LG added the buttons in the rear panel and it seems these buttons are one of the main elements for LG’s newer devices.
If you are a fan of X-Men series, then you know about the Wolverine’s self-healing power. LG G Flex’s rear cover takes care of small scratches within minutes.
Hardware
There is no surprise in the hardware specifications and LG used the same hardware pieces used in other powerful Android devices. The only drawback is about the screen resolution which is a 720p display.
Software
In the LG’s Press release, there is just 1 new feature that took advantage of the curved display which is the option to view special animations based on the way you unlock your phone (where and how you unlock). Some other software features of LG G Flex are: QTheater, Dual Window, Urgent Call Alert, and powerful media playing
Pricing and Availability
The press release stats that G Flex will be available in the next month on 3 carriers in the South Korea with unknown price. There is also no detail regarding the global availability of the device.
LG G Flex vs. Samsung Galaxy Round
G Flex and Galaxy Round are the only devices available with a curved display and the main difference between these 2 devices is the way they are curved! While G Flex is curved from top to bottom (vertically), the Galaxy Round is curved horizontally. The Galaxy Round side to side curve lets you work with your device easier but G Flex is easier to talk with. The other differences are about the display resolution, amount of RAM, and the version of Android, which Galaxy Round is equipped with a FULL HD resolution display, 3GB of RAM, and Jelly Bean 4.3 (compare it to HD resolution, 2GB of RAM and Jelly Bean 4.2.2).
The advantages of LG G Flex over Galaxy Round is about the screen size and battery which are 6inch and 350mAh (compare it to 5.7inch and 2800mAh).
Both devices will be available only in Korea and there seems to be no global release.
