Design
The design is described as Simplicity and beautifulness. On the front side, you see nothing but a 5.5" display with side strips at its minimum (only 3 mm). Like Nexus 4, there are shiny dots on the back side, reflecting over different light angles. The device thickness is only 9.4 mm.Hardware
The most important hardware piece used for this gadget is its display. It’s a True HD-IPS display with full HD resolution and 16 million colors, which regarding to the 5.5" display size, it would give a pixel density of over 400 PPI. LG claims these types of displays could display colors in their natural forms. But generally it could be said that it is one of the best, if not the best itself. The new generation of Qualcomm processors are used for Optimus G. A quad core Snapdragon 600 with 1.7 GH of frequency. The device is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 as the graphical processing unit. In the list of hardware benchmark, Optimus G has achieved better rankings than Asus Padfone 2 and Xperia Z. Like other similar smartphones, Optimus G is equipped with 13 MP of camera and LED flash. Another great feature built into Optimus G is that it can simultaneously use both front and back cameras.Software
You expect nothing more than Android from an Android device. The Android version installed on this phablet is Jelly Bean 4.1.2. LG has also bundled a special new GUI. There are too many options to configure and to customize according to your wishes in this GUI. Applying new themes and icons is one of these options. The notification bar which scrolls down from the top, as always, has now the ability to add applications shortcut to it, making them more accessible. Like Smart Stay feature used in some of Samsung new devices, LG has also used an alike feature called Wise Screen in which it prevents screen from turning off whenever the user is staring at the device.
