So, let’s get started:
How to enable the List View in the Settings
By default Tab View is enabled when opening the Settings, and I found the Tab View a little confusing compared to the List View where everything is accessible with less steps taken.
How to Disable Noisy Sounds
The touch sound and keyboard sound when typing, is really annoying for me and one of the very first thing I always do when using a new phone is disabling these noisy sounds.
To disable touch sound, dialpad sounds and Screen lock sound do as follows:
- Open the Settings app
- Scroll down to Device settings and touch the Sound & notification option
- Scroll all the way down and tap the Sound effects under the Advanced Settings
- Now, simply unmark the sounds you’d like to disable
To disable sound on keypress do as follows:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap the Language & Keyboard option under the Personal settings
- Tap the LG Keyboard option (considering you are using this keyboard as your default input method)
- Scroll to the Smart Input settings and tap the More option
- Make sure to unmark the Sound on keypress option
How to setup Fingerprint to unlock your phone
The fingerprint sensor is integrated with the power button in the back of your LG V10. To use your fingerprint to unlock your phone, do as follows:
- Open the Settings application
- Tap the Fingerprint & Security option under the Personal settings
- Under the General settings, tap the Fingerprints option
- If you have not already defined a secure screen lock method (Knock Code, Pattern, PIN or Password), you are asked to define one.
- After that, you get to place you finger on the power key. For more accurate results, try to lift and place your finger repeatedly and differently.
- Once you scanned your finger completely tap the OK button
- As you see the Screen lock option is automatically marked and you can unlock the screen with your fingerprint.
How to Enable the One-Handed Mode
The LG V10’s screen is really big and sometimes it is impossible to work with it with one hand (even with a big hand). But the solution is the Mini View option which enables the One-handed mode shrinks the screen, so you can easily use your phone with one hand.
To enable the One-handed mode on LG V10, do as follows:
- Open the Settings application
- Tap the Mini View option under the Device settings
- Use the toggle button on the top right to enable the Mini View feature
- Now all you have to do is simply swipe left or right across the Back, Home and Overview buttons
- Once the One-handed mode (Mini view) is enabled, you get to resize the screen and change its place by dragging it
How to Disable / Enable Smart Bulletin on the Home Screen
Smart Bulletin is the LG’s smart solution for some of its services including the Calendar, LG Health and Quick Remote.
- Go the home screen and swipe right to the Smart Bulletin page
- Tap the Gear icon on the top right and toggle the On/Off button off
How to Enable Home Screen Looping
- Open the Settings application
- Go to the Home Screen settings under the Device.
- Under the Screen settings, make sure to enable the Allow Home screen looping option
- Now all it takes to get from the last screen to the first screen, is a simple swipe
How to Enable the Easy Mode for Beginners
If you are new to Android and find the current LG V10’s settings and views somehow confusing, then the Easy Mode is your angel, as it delivers an easier interface with larger font size, and applications are accessible easier.

- Tap the Tethering option, under the Wireless Networks settings
- Make sure the Wi-Fi hotspot option is enabled, and then touch the text field to change the settings
- Tap the Set up Wi-Fi hotspot option and change the network’s name and set a password for it
- Other users can now join your created network by providing the password
How to Setup the Second Screen
- Open the Settings application
- Tap the Second Screen option under the Device settings
- Specify when the second screen should be on: when the main screen is On, when the main screen is Off, or Always. Use the toggle buttons to turn the second screen on or off in these situations.
- Now tap the “Show when main screen on” text field to open the settings.
- As you can see, you have the option to set a signature, view recent apps, have quick access to your select contacts, add app shortcuts, control your music, and view your upcoming plans.
- Mark the content you want to see on the second screen (while the main screen is on) and change the order by using the 3-small-line right to each content
- Go back and tap the “Show when main screen off” text field to open the settings.
- There you have the option to either see the Date & Time or Signature when the main screen is off
