Pimp Your Screen is a real awesome widget pack for Android which lets you create so many widgets with different functionality and personalization. With more than 20 widgets this application will suffice your needs, from weather and clock widgets to battery status and toggle ones.
Configurable weather widgets lets you personalize weather data like Fahrenheit or Celsius, wind speed unit, pressure unit, hour format and location. The weather package consists of eight widgets, from 1×1 to 4×3 and 4×4. Each of them are suitable for different home screens and different styles. Choose your layout: all weather details, short-term forecast, long-term forecast, current state and clock. There is also the possibility to add more than one weather widgets to your home screen and track multiple locations.
Among the widgets there are some adjustable clock widgets, Thinline, Digital, C-motion, Ultrasonic, Antique and Wordy. 7 colorful and elegant analog clocks as well as three multi size digital clocks and of course one wordy clock.
The 1×1 toggle widget lets you switch on/off these items: GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Flashlight, Brightness, Rotation Vibration and Sound.
If you are a battery saver and always care about your battery status, the two battery widgets are for you. Drag them to your home screen and see the status and percentage (and also the charging status) all in one beautiful compact widget. Clicking the widget will open the battery menu in the system Settings.
And the last thing, there is a wallpaper section in the main application. You can access high quality wallpapers and background images over the internet. All wallpapers are categorized in its own section, Abstract, Cartoon, Holidays, Sci-Fi, Sports, Nature and of course two New and Popular tabs let you discover the latest and the most popular wallpapers for your phone / tablet.
Let’s wrap up the review:
Positive points: widgets are professionally designed and I am sure that will tease your friends. There are multiple weather and clock widgets for different tastes and different home screen layout. The 1×1 toggle widget seems to be really handy.
Negative points: the whole application runs a little slow. The toggle widget could provide more system settings shortcuts (i.e. Wi-Fi hotspot). Unlike its file size (more than 25 MB) the wallpaper section requires internet connection and does not include some default wallpapers. Weather widgets use the same layout and design that could be boring for users.
Generally we would recommend this application for everyone. It has really a good feeling to see those colorful widgets on the home screen.
