How to Stop File Explorer From Showing Recent Files in Windows 10
Quick Access (from File Explorer) in Windows 10 shows your recent accessed files and folders by default. If you want to stop file explorer from showing recent files in Windows 10, you need to do as follows:
1. Open the File Explorer on your PC
2. Click on the View tab, followed by the Options to open the Folder Options menu.
3. While on the General tab, Find the Privacy settings and make sure both these items are unchecked: Show recently used files in Quick access and Show frequently used folders in Quick access.
4. You may want to Clear File Explorer history as well.
