Fresha runs the calendar, online booking, point of sale, payments, client records and marketing for appointment businesses: salons, barbers, nail and tanning studios, spas, medspas, massage, fitness, physical therapy, tattoo and pet grooming businesses, among others on its list. A one-person business pays $19.95 per month. Bigger teams pay $14.95 per bookable team member monthly, and businesses with over 20 team members can ask sales for custom rates. Booking through your own link, Instagram or Facebook is free, but a brand new client who finds you on the Fresha marketplace costs a one-time 20% commission.
Quick verdict
If you run a salon, barbershop, spa or similar business and want booking, payments, stock and client records in one system, both paid plans include them. Staff pay tools such as commissions and timesheets are on Team only. Cost grows with your team: each bookable team member adds $14.95 a month on Team, and add-ons such as the AI Concierge or Client Loyalty are priced per location. There is no free plan on the pricing page. You also pay per text after the free allowance, card processing fees if you take payments through Fresha, and the 20% marketplace fee on new clients. On Google Play the business app has 4.6 stars from 9,071 ratings. Many app reviewers call it easy to use. Cost is the most common complaint: several are upset that the free plan ended, and several complain about the new-client fee.

Features
These come from the pricing page on fresha.com and the Google Play listing for the business app. The pricing page lists everything in the first five groups on both Independent and Team, except where it says otherwise.
- Calendar and bookings: calendar and appointment scheduling, waitlists, group bookings, processing and finishing times, resources and patch tests. Clients book through direct booking links (“one simple link covering everything your clients can book or buy online”), Facebook, Instagram, the Fresha marketplace or the client booking app. Independent has a single calendar column; Team has multiple.
- Clients: client management, consultation forms, client ratings and reviews, and Client Connect.
- Sales: point of sale, retail and inventory, an online product store, quotes and invoices, deals and promotions, gift cards, packages and memberships. The Android listing adds supplier ordering and consumption tracking for inventory.
- Payments: upfront payments and no-show and cancellation fees. The FAQ says taking payments through Fresha is optional, so you can run bookings and the calendar without it. Team adds multi merchant, which routes payments directly from clients to independents.
- Messages and marketing: automated email and mobile app notifications are free and unlimited. Automated texts, WhatsApp messages and marketing emails come with a monthly allowance (see the pricing section). The FAQ says reminders go out by email and SMS.
- Team: team member profiles, shift scheduling and tips on both plans. The comparison table shows login permissions, sales commissions, wages, pay runs, timesheets (clock in and out), and service pricing and duration per team member on Team only.
- Reporting: reports on both plans. The “Insights” add-on adds “rich data” and control over your team’s access to reports.
- Moving from another system: the FAQ says you can import client details and product inventory, and larger partners can buy paid packages for more data migration help.
- Certifications: the pricing page lists HIPAA compliance, ISO 9001, ISO 27001, GDPR and Security Metrics, which it says is “tested quarterly”. These are the vendor’s own claims.
- Support: Independent lists email and chat support; Team lists phone, chat and email support. The pricing page gives a typical response of 2 days for email.

Mobile apps
The business app on Android is “Fresha for business” (the listing calls it Fresha Partner, formerly Shedul). It’s version 2.8.12860, updated November 3, 2026, first released July 26, 2019, with 500,000+ downloads. It’s free, and the listing shows no ads and no in-app purchases. The listing describes the appointment calendar, a point of sale, team notifications about appointment changes, online booking through Instagram, Facebook, Google and your website, a business profile on the Fresha marketplace, card payments with no-show protection, marketing tools, automated reminders, inventory, and financial reporting. It marks card processing and marketing tools as “currently available in selected countries”. On Android the app asks for location, contacts, microphone and NFC access, among other permissions.
The pricing page says the business app runs on iOS and Android. The App Store listing in our data, though, is Fresha for customers, the app your clients use to book appointments, and its reviews come from clients. We left it out, so everything below is about the Android business app.

Pros (from app reviews)
These come from Android business app reviews from the last two years; the newest review in our data is from November 2026. Our sample includes a fixed number of reviews per star level, so low ratings are over-represented compared with the breakdown below.
- Easy to use: many reviewers call it easy, simple or user-friendly. A few disagree and say it is complicated or that information is hard to find.
- Clients like it: several say their clients are happy with it or find it easy to book.
- Saves time: a few say it saves them time; one of them calls it “a huge time-saver”.
- Reliable, for some: a few say it’s reliable. One of them runs the whole team’s diaries on it and says it “never let’s us down”. Several others report crashes (see the cons).
- Reports: two praise the reports, and one of them lists the dashboard, sales and staff performance figures and occupancy rate.
- Support, once: one reviewer praises support and names the staff member who helped. Several others complain about support.
Cons (from app reviews)
- Cost and fees: this is the most common complaint, from many reviewers. Several object to the end of the free plan and the switch to a paid subscription. The developer’s replies say the subscription supports new features and tools added over time.
- The new-client fee: several complain about the fee on new clients, which the pricing page sets at a 20% one-time commission. A few say they were charged it for clients who reached them through their own booking link or page, Google or Instagram. The pricing page says clients from your own website, Instagram or Facebook aren’t charged, and one developer reply says the fee only applies to bookings through the marketplace. One reviewer says the fee was charged for a client who never received the service.
- Billing problems: several report charges they say are wrong or unexplained. A few say Fresha kept taking money after they cancelled or closed their account.
- Support: several say support is hard to reach or slow, and a few say their emails or requests got no reply. One says you can’t call them directly, and another wishes there were a call centre to talk to a person. The pricing page lists phone support on the Team plan card, not on Independent.
- Crashes and log-in problems: several say the app crashes, won’t open, won’t load, stops working for a while or won’t let them log in. A few say this started after an update. The developer’s replies to some of these point to the support team at [email protected].
- Not every feature in every country: a few say features or payment options aren’t available where they work, two of them in South Africa and one in Peru. A developer reply says some features aren’t available in all regions yet.
- Access to your data: two say they lost access to their data without a paid plan, one of them after a free trial ended. The developer’s reply to that review says a subscription is required to keep using the platform after the trial.

Who it’s for
A good fit if:
- You run a salon, barbershop, nail or tanning studio, spa, medspa, massage, fitness or physical therapy business and want booking, point of sale, payments and client records in one system.
- You have a team: Team adds commissions, wages, pay runs, timesheets and login permissions, priced per bookable team member.
- Your clients book through your own link, Instagram or Facebook. The pricing page says those bookings carry no fee.
- You want to try it without a contract: there’s a 7 day trial, monthly billing and no minimum commitment.
- You have over 20 team members and want to ask for custom Enterprise rates.
Look elsewhere if:
- You want a free booking tool. The pricing page has no free plan, and several app reviewers say the free option ended.
- You’d rely on the marketplace for new clients and your margins are thin: each brand new marketplace client costs a 20% one-time commission, minimum $6.
- You work in a country where card processing and marketing tools aren’t offered. The listing says they’re available in selected countries.
- You work alone and want phone support: the Independent card lists email and chat only.
