Taskade Review: AI App Builder and Project Workspace for Teams

Taskade is a team workspace that builds apps, AI agents and automations from a prompt, with lists, boards and Gantt views for projects. Pro is $10 a month, billed annually; long-time app users dislike the shift to AI.

Taskade review: AI app builder and project workspace

Taskade is a shared workspace where your team keeps projects and tasks, and where its AI, Taskade Genesis, turns a written prompt into a working app: a CRM, a client portal, a dashboard or an internal tool, with AI agents and automations attached. The home page says Taskade Genesis is built for founders, marketing, agencies and teams, and for anyone who knows what they would build but lacks the engineering team to build it. Plans run from a free tier with 2 users to Enterprise at $250 a month billed annually, and AI work is paid for with credits: paid plans include a monthly allowance, and the free plan starts with none.

Quick verdict

If your team wants to build simple internal tools or client portals without hiring a developer, Taskade puts that next to its project views in one workspace. Prices are billed annually: Pro is $10 a month and is capped at 10 users, and Business at $25 a month adds unlimited users, SAML single sign-on, custom domains and admin controls. Check how seats are charged before you buy, because the pricing page lists users as included while Taskade’s GitHub page lists the same prices per seat. Credits are the catch: the free plan starts with none, so the first AI prompt asks you to pay, and heavier AI use means buying credit packs. App reviews are split. Several Android reviewers like building apps from a prompt, but many long-time users say the AI rebuild buried the task and list features they relied on, and the Android app sits at 3.9 stars.

Features

These come from the home and pricing pages on taskade.com, Taskade’s GitHub page and the App Store listing.

  • Apps from a prompt: describe what you need in plain English and Taskade Genesis builds a live app, such as a CRM, client portal, booking system, KPI dashboard or form. Apps are hosted, can be private or public, and can be shared with a password. You can also clone ready-made apps from the Community Gallery.
  • AI agents: agents trained on your files, projects, Google Drive or Dropbox content and websites, with web search and custom tools. They can run in the background and be embedded on your website. Business lets you group agents into teams.
  • Automations: workflows with branching, looping and filters, run on a schedule or a trigger, across 100+ integrations. The pricing page says failed steps retry automatically.
  • Projects: the App Store listing names list, board, table, calendar, mind map, timeline and Gantt, and action views, with real-time collaboration. It also says the task and project features still work without AI, and that AI is optional.
  • AI models: Taskade’s TSK-1 layer picks from models that include OpenAI GPT, DeepSeek and Qwen. From Pro, you can bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Vertex AI key.
  • Team and admin (Business and up): unlimited users, roles and permissions, an admin dashboard with usage tracking, SAML sign-on through Okta, Azure AD or Google Workspace, white-label branding and custom domains. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, dedicated onboarding and a custom SLA.
  • Data and security claims: the pricing page says your data is never used to train AI models, is encrypted in transit and at rest (AES-256), and that Taskade is Google CASA certified, with SOC 2 Type II “in progress”. It also says you own what you build and can export it. These are the vendor’s statements; we didn’t check them.

Plans and pricing

Plan Price Main additions
Free $0 2 users, up to 3 apps with hosting, 1 AI agent, 10 automation runs a month, standard integrations. No monthly AI credits: earn them through referrals and social actions, or buy a pack.
Pro $10/mo, billed annually 10 users, 50,000 credits a month, unlimited apps, agents and workspaces, 1,000 automation runs a month, 100 GB storage, premium integrations, no “Powered by Taskade” badge, your own AI keys
Business $25/mo, billed annually Unlimited users, 150,000 credits a month, custom domains, white-label branding, SAML SSO, admin controls and dashboard, REST API, 1 TB storage, priority support
Max $100/mo, billed annually 400,000 credits a month, autonomous agents, extended thinking modes, agent teams running in parallel
Enterprise $250/mo, billed annually 1.1 million credits a month, SCIM provisioning, dedicated onboarding, custom SLA, volume credit pricing
Extra credits $5, $20 or $50 per pack 9,000, 45,000 or 125,000 credits. Pack credits don’t expire and stay after you downgrade; they don’t add automation runs.

The prices above are annual-billing rates: the home page shows “Pro ($10/mo, billed annually)”, and the GitHub page says “Billed annually”. Annual billing saves 50% compared with monthly billing, the pricing page says, but it doesn’t show the monthly-billing prices. On seats, the pages disagree: the pricing page says Pro includes 10 users and Business unlimited users, while the GitHub page lists each paid plan per seat ($10/seat/mo for Pro, $25/seat/mo for Business) and caps Pro at 10 seats, so ask Taskade how a team of your size is billed. Credits are used only for AI work, such as building an app or running an agent. Published apps, projects and non-AI automations keep working when credits run out, and a build stops when your balance hits zero, so it can’t overspend. A full app build with research can use several times the credits of a simple prompt. Custom domains are included from Business, and buying a new domain in Taskade starts at $4.99 for the first year, renewing from $29.99. Plan changes aren’t available in the App Store version. The pricing page says Taskade doesn’t publish a standing student, startup, nonprofit or education discount.

Mobile apps

The Android app, “Taskade – One Prompt. One App.”, is version 6.0.14, updated October 16, 2026, with 1,000,000+ downloads. It’s free with no ads and lists in-app purchases from $4.99 to $299.99 per item. The iPhone app, “Taskade: AI Apps & Agents”, is version 6.0.13, updated October 18, 2026, and needs iOS 16.4 or later. Its App Store listing covers app building, agents, automations and the project views, and tells existing users that lists and workflows haven’t been removed. On Android, the app asks for access to contacts, the microphone and the camera, among other permissions.

Pros (from app reviews)

These come from Android reviews dated February 2025 to October 2026 and iPhone reviews from 2025 and 2026. Older iPhone reviews describe the app before the AI rebuild; they appear only in the last point below.

  • Building apps from a prompt: several reviewers like building apps from a prompt. One in July 2026 says it turns “just an idea” into “an entire app that is operational within minutes”; another is building a chess app and calls it a “good quality build”. A few others say the AI deleted correct work, couldn’t build what they asked for, or that agents didn’t work.
  • Easy to start: several call it easy or beginner friendly, including one with no coding background. About as many say it’s confusing or hard to learn, and one iPhone reviewer calls the learning curve “more of a 90 degree angle”.
  • Templates and pricing: two praise the templates, and two say the pricing is fair. One Android reviewer notes the database features are free to use without AI.
  • Earlier task app: many older iPhone reviews, from 2018 to 2024, praise Taskade as a simple list, task and team app. Those reviews describe the product before the rebuild.

Cons (from app reviews)

  • The shift to AI: many reviewers who used Taskade for tasks, lists or shared household lists say the AI rebuild pushed those features aside. Several say updates added taps and slowed the app; one Android reviewer in January 2026 says reaching a list now takes “6 or 7 agonizing taps”. The developer’s replies in October 2026 say lists, projects and boards still work without AI and use no credits.
  • Paying to try the AI: many say there’s little to do without paying. The developer’s replies confirm that the free plan has no monthly AI credits, so the first prompt asks for credits; you can earn some through referrals and shares.
  • Lifetime-deal buyers: a few who bought lifetime plans feel the deal was broken; two of them say they’re now pushed to buy AI credits. The developer’s replies say lifetime plans keep projects, boards and AI agents and can add their own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key.
  • Crashes and sign-in trouble: several report crashes, error messages or an app that won’t load, including a Pro subscriber who keeps getting 503 errors. Several more can’t sign in at all.
  • Billing: two say a paid upgrade or subscription wasn’t applied to their account, and one says their fee doubled between January and February 2026 without notice. One says 150,000 credits were gone in two days, and another says credit prices went up.
  • Missing data and support: a few say workspaces or data disappeared after an update. The developer suggests checking the workspace switcher and Archives first. Two say support took a month or never answered.

Who it’s for

A good fit if:

  • Your team or agency wants internal tools, client portals or dashboards and has no developer to build them.
  • You need admin controls, roles and an admin dashboard for a growing team (Business and up).
  • IT needs SAML single sign-on and admin controls without an enterprise contract; both start on Business.
  • You already pay for OpenAI, Anthropic or Google AI and want to use your own keys (Pro and up).

Look elsewhere if:

  • You want a plain task manager. Long-time app reviewers say the AI features now get in the way of lists and tasks.
  • Your team wants to try the AI free first: the free plan has no monthly credits.
  • You need predictable costs for heavy AI use. Credit use varies by task, and extra usage is billed in packs.
  • You need SOC 2 Type II today: the pricing page lists it as in progress.

FAQ

How much does Taskade cost for a team?

Pro is $10 a month and Business $25 a month, both billed annually. The pricing page says Pro includes 10 users and Business unlimited users, while Taskade’s GitHub page lists the same prices per seat, so confirm how your team would be billed. Monthly billing costs more: the pricing page says annual billing saves 50%.

What are Taskade credits?

Credits pay for AI work: building apps, running agents and AI steps in automations. Pro includes 50,000 a month and Business 150,000; the free plan starts at zero. Extra packs cost $5 for 9,000 credits, $20 for 45,000 and $50 for 125,000.

Can you still use Taskade as a task manager without AI?

The App Store listing says yes: lists, workflows and collaboration still work, and AI is optional. The developer’s replies say lists and projects use no credits. Many long-time app reviewers say the redesign makes those features harder to reach.

Does Taskade support single sign-on?

Yes, from the Business plan. Your team can sign in through Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace or another SAML 2.0 provider. Automatic user provisioning (SCIM) is only on Enterprise.
